This little story pulled me in from the first scene and it was interesting enough all the way through to keep me reading. I was pleasantly surprised how fiction was mixed with non-fiction, creating an enjoyable learning atmosphere.
The best thing about it was that I learnt the basics of running a business without realising it at first – just like the author promised.
I would recommend for anyone who needs an easy and enjoyable guide to business, instead of the heavy-loaded books that are out there. I can easily imagine this story as a series of self-help books, too, maybe with different characters. Awesome and unique idea from the author!

When I first started reading the book I realized it isn’t the typical book about financial success. It starts off introducing the readers to Julia in 2009. She worked as a game and toy designer. When her husband died, she moved away. When she tried to get her old job back she learned the business was closing. So she opened her own business.
I like that the book wasn’t just fact and information. It told a story about Julia, her ups and downs of starting her own business.
Of course the book did give facts and information. Julia sought the help of Mike to help her with the finances. He taught her six lessons to help her become successful.
The book also lists some rules for the early years of having a business.
How Julia Found Happiness and Financial Success is a well written book. It is very interesting. Some business books can get boring with just information but with the story of Julia and Michael, this one is not boring. Even if you are not looking to start a business, this book is a good read.
